(17-0962) Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute an agreement with Public Corporation for the Arts of the City of Long Beach, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation, dba the Arts Council for Long Beach, in the amount of $454,300 to fund arts and cultural activities for a period of one year. (Citywide)
7. (17-0963) Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to increase Blanket Purchase Orders No. BPFM14000026 with HERC Rentals, Inc., of Carson, CA, and No. BPFM14000057 with United Rentals (North America), Inc., of Long Beach, CA, for the rental and delivery of heavy equipment, by $200,000, for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $400,000 for the period ending January 14, 2018. (17-0964) Recommendation to adopt Specifications No. ITB FS17-130 and award a contract to Los Angeles Truck Centers, LLC, of Whittier, CA, for the purchase and delivery of a Freightliner M2-112, CNG-fueled Street Flusher Truck, for a total amount not to exceed $248,260, inclusive of taxes and fees. (17-0968) Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a Memorandum of Understanding, and any related documents or amendments, between the City of Long Beach and Johns Hopkins University, a not-for-profit educational institution established under the laws of the State of Maryland, on behalf of the Johns Hopkins Center for Government Excellence (GovEx), for the establishment of a study related to business licenses and permitting data management and performance under the What Works Cities initiatives (WWC), at no cost to the City. (17-0971) Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to take all actions necessary to create and administer a pilot program of workshops to promote Energy Efficient Mortgages among home buyers in Long Beach during calendar year 2018; Increase appropriations in the Gas Fund (EF 301) in the Long Beach Gas and Oil Department (GO) by $40,000, offset by funds available; and Increase appropriations in the Development Services Fund (EF 337) in the Development Services Department (DV) by $40,000, offset by a transfer of funds from the Long Beach Gas and Oil Department (GO). 17. (17-0972) Recommendation to adopt Specifications No. ITB FS17-137 and award a contract to Los Angeles Truck Centers, LLC, of Whittier, CA, for the purchase and delivery of four 2018 Autocar ACX, CNG-fueled Roll-Off Trucks, for a total amount not to exceed $1,027,675, inclusive of taxes and fees. 18. (17-0973) Recommendation to adopt Specifications No. ITB FS18-003 and award contracts to The Lighthouse, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs, CA; Hanson Distributing, of Azusa, CA; Factory Motor Parts, LLC, of Long Beach, CA; Warren Distributing, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs, CA; H&H Auto Parts Wholesale of Arleta, CA; Genuine Parts Company dba Napa Auto Parts of Long Beach, CA; Battery Systems, Inc. of Long Beach, CA; and Los Angeles Truck Centers, LLC, of Carson, CA, for the purchase and delivery of general automotive parts, in an aggregate annual amount of $1,300,000, for a period of two years, with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods; authorize a 15 percent contingency in the amount of $195,000, for a total aggregate annual amount not to exceed $1,495,000, at the discretion of the City Manager, or designee; authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to enter into contracts, including any necessary amendments; and Increase appropriations in the Fleet Fund (IS 386) in the Financial Management Department (FM) by $300,000, offset by charges billed to user departments through the regular monthly Fleet MOU billing process.
